Cobra Kai season 6 part 2: Release date, cast and latest news for Netflix series
An old nemesis rises as the karate kids go global!
Cobra Kai season 6 part 1 has dropped on Netflix, but it won't be long until fans start wondering when they can expect the next five episodes in the Karate Kid saga.
The show is going out in suitably epic fashion with three batches dropping months apart that will keep fans in suspense about some of the key battles and developments in the Sekai Taikai tournament.
"When we talked to Netflix, we felt like one season – 10 episodes – is not going to be enough to finish this up," Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg explained in an interview with RadioTimes.com.
"[But] it's a lot to make 20 episodes, and we didn't want to wait too long in terms of how they get released and how they all go out. And so 15 became a good number, like a supersize season, to pay off all these characters that we've set up.
"And we liked the idea for fans, also, because five episodes for this show is about three hours, so it's a good binge. Whereas 15 episodes all at once is just impossible. So it gives fans a good binge, spread out from now into 2025."
So, when exactly is Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 arriving on Netflix? Read on for everything we know so far.
Cobra Kai season 6 part 2 release date: When is it coming out?
Season 6 is being split into three parts, with season 6 part 1 being released on Netflix on Thursday 18th July.
The next batch of episodes - part 2 - will be released at an earlier date now. It was previously announced that part 2 would be released on Thursday 28th November but it's now been revealed that it will debut on Friday 15th November.
Creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald surprised the audience at the season 6 premiere with the news, telling fans (via Deadline): “You heard it here first. Send it to the internet. November 15. Same day as Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson. Netflix Fight Night. No undercard. Two main events. Let’s do it."
The season 6 renewal news was revealed with an open letter to fans in January 2023, coming from creators Heald, Hurwitz and Schlossberg.
It read: "Reacquainting the world with The Karate Kid universe has been our humble honour. Making Cobra Kai has allowed us to join the same hallowed dojo once inhabited by the great Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub and all the amazing original cast members.

It continued: "Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined. So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement."
Hinting at future spin-offs in future, it continued: "The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai. While this may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger.
"This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because, as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies."

Cobra Kai season 6 plot: What will happen?
Fans will remember that Cobra Kai's season 5 finale set up the return of once-vanquished villain John Kreese, as played by Martin Kove, who is vying for revenge having spent time behind bars.
He's enacted the first stage of that plan by putting together a formidable Cobra Kai team to compete at the international Sekai Taikai tournament, which included pulling troubled Tory Nichols back into the hyper-aggressive and cult-like dojo.
Season 6 part 2 is likely to include some pulse-pounding fights as we find out which students have what it takes to get to the finals of the prestigious competition – and how the wins or losses will impact them personally.
